Blessings God’s workmanship–

The plans for Homecoming 2022 are being finalized and I want to know if we can accomplish the following. The theme for the day is “Speak Lord – Your People are Listening”, [1 Samuel 3:10] and the attire is jeans and Pray My Strength in the Lord t-shirts or purple and/or black shirts. The itinerary for the day would go thusly:

HOMECOMING 2022 will feature two (2) OUTDOOR WORSHIP services, with morning worship at 10-11:30am and an afternoon Gospel Jamboree beginning 4pm until 5:30pm. Both singing groups that had planned to be with us last week, have confirmed that they will share on this coming Sunday, Sep 18th. The Jamboree would include Mt Moriah Missionary Baptist Mass Choir (York, PA), the Chosen Vessels (Damascus) and the Strawbridge Women of Worship (WOW). Regular offering envelopes and Building Fund envelopes will be distributed to all and the afternoon service will benefit the sanctuary floor.

Between services (1:00-3:30pm), we would sponsor a picnic-styled meal with menu items including:
  • Fried Chicken (175-piece purchased)
  • Grilled hamburgers and beef hot dogs (approx 60/each)
  • Specialty grilled items (you bring it, pastor will season & grill it for you; his first job was Rustler Steak House)
  • green beans and cabbage (2 trays each)
  • mac & cheese (2 trays)
  • fried corn and baked beans (1 tray each – asking Faye Dorm to supply)
  • baked goods (cake, pie, cookies, etc)
  • sliced water melon
  • sweet tea and water
  • Carroll kona ice truck?
[at the end of the day, we want the food to be all gone, for once]

We would also ask those with outdoor games to bring them (checkers, football, corn-hole toss, etc), in addition to people bringing outdoor chairs, tents, blankets, etc. The weather promises to be very mild (82 degrees) but sunny. The red tent and the larger green canopy will be set up for food and worship, respectively. Also, we will need to direct a different type of parking scheme than usual.

Those are all the things I can think of but of course, if I forgot anything, please let me know. This email is being sent to a limited number of you, but we can certainly employ others to share in the work for the day.

Here’s to OUR GRACIOUS LORD, who does and plans all things well,

amb
