2020 With Malice Toward None | Braver Angels

on this coming Friday, October 23rd at 7pm, we will host a Zoom meeting to partner with the Braver Angels and their initiative concerning the aftermath of this year’s presidential election. The initiative is called With Malice Toward None and it purposes to make certain all involved remain courteous and civil following the November 3rd election no matter what the outcome. The meeting should last an hour and includes a question and answer period.

Our own Bruce Calvert will lead us through the centering concepts and messaging we hope you and the larger community will embrace. We will also dedicate Sunday’s worship service to spreading the message in light of the Bible’s teaching on Christians ethics found in Romans 12:9-21. As you read and meditate on the scriptural text, you will clearly see how the With Malice Toward None pledge (below) is inspired by the scriptures.

The Pledge:

“Regardless of how the election turns out, I will not hold hate, disdain, or ridicule
for those who voted differently from me. Whether I am pleased or upset about the
outcome, I will seek to understand the concerns and aspirations of those who voted
differently and will look for opportunities to work with people with whom I don’t agree.”

With Malice Toward None is an initiative of Braver Angels, a citizens’ organization of red,
blue, and other Americans working for less rancor and more goodwill in our politics.
